Boswell Votes to Extend Loans, Tax Incentives to Small Businesses
Washington, DC – Congressman Leonard Boswell supported and the House passed H.R. 5297, the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act, and H.R 5486, the Small Business Jobs Tax Relief Act, to increase loans available to small businesses and offer tax incentives to help these businesses grow and hire additional workers.
“Small businesses are the backbone of Iowa’s economy and imperative to keeping our local communities thriving,” Boswell said. “These bills will help community banks to extend loans to small businesses and provide tax credits that are essential to keeping these companies afloat during tough economic times.”
H.R. 5297 and H.R. 5486 build upon several other pieces of small business legislation passed in the 111th Congress that encourage entrepreneurship and innovation; provide assistance in paying for benefits for employees; and incentivize entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses.
